Second book of the series and it is really taking off (forgive the pun). Fascinating concepts and vision of mankind's future.
This is basically a story of one man's rise to power from the lowliest of origins. It is also an introduction to the "Okie" city of New York and it's mayor Amalfi on which is the central focus of the next two books.
Retrospectively looking back, this was my favourite part of the four part series even though the meat of the matter, if you will, doesn't begin until the next part "Earthman, come home".
